Hey Joe,
Dr. Ray here.
You haven’t heard from me since last April, near the tail end of the presidential primaries — and, if I recall, the exact occasion was the Wisconsin primary, which you won and that other last man standing, Bernie Sanders, threw in the towel.
At the time, I wrote you a note, congratulating you on knocking off some 20 of your worthy rivals during the course of the campaign — and offering you some advice about whom you might consider picking for your administration, if you won the election.
Well, that time has come and I see that you are actually naming members of your Cabinet. In fact several of these names showed up in the media this week.
Thus, I figured it was high time for me to circle back and present you with my expanded roster of the folks I would advise you to consider for your administration.
I should add that, full disclosure, you are not the horse I bet on in this presidential race. In fact, you weren’t even in the top five on my bettor’s tout sheet at any point in the race. Frankly, I thought you were a weak candidate and that you couldn’t beat Trump.
Shows you how much I know. Maybe I should’ve learned something from my betting history. Here’s the rundown.
In 1968, when I was still at Harvard College, I couldn’t vote in the November election because I was just 20 years old (and the 26th Amendment lowering the voting age from 21 to 18 did not happen until 1971) — but I would’ve voted for RFK (but of course Sirhan Sirhan put an end to that plan), and I would then have voted for Gene McCarthy, but again, I was not old enough.
